Cause and Effect Magazine piece

Hello my lovely loves!

I've been sitting on this one for a while so it's amazing that I finally get to show it to you! My piece for Cause and Effect magazine.
Amnah, the editor, is also a sufferer of ME and contacted me about doing a comic to illustrate how it feels to have it.
I'd had a little idea in the back of my head for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity to realise it.

You can buy Cause and Effect here. It's a limited edition hardcover book, and you get to choose your own cover design from a selection of three, which is awesome. (I went for the pink vintage ladies - it reminds me of a Wes Anderson movie!)

Without further ado, here's my piece.

Christmas cards 2018

Hello my lovely loves!

It's time for this years Christmas cards to go on sale! This year there are two designs, one for cat lovers, and one for dog lovers. Or for those that loves both... both!

The dog one is my own spin on the "Dachshund through the snow" pun (man, I love puns), and the cat one is a play on the christmas folklore, Krampus - or Krampuss! (I told you I love puns.)

Those eagle-eyed viewers among you may notice a familiar model has been used for one of them...

Cards are A6 this year, are blank inside, and as usual I'll be giving 10% of the profits from the cards to Crisis. Because no one should be homeless, especially not at Christmas.

There'll also be free UK shipping on cards from now on, and discounted shipping for international customers!

Head here to my Etsy shop to get buying!

Phryne

Hello my lovely loves!

Just a little one today - I've been slowly working on more detectives after my Sherlock and John, and this time we have the Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher, from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries.

You may remember that I was her last Halloween, and this year Mum contacted Every Cloud, the makers of MFMM, and arranged a lovely surprise for me.
As I couldn't go to our Gatsby fundraiser (which was 1920's themed mainly because of Miss Fisher), Every Cloud TV sent me a signed photo from Essie Davis (Phryne) and Ashleigh Cummings (her companion, Dorothy), a hand cream branded from their upcoming movie (which I'm VERY excited about) and a beautiful limited edition silk scarf. Who could ask for anything more?

After that it felt only right for Phryne to be my next detective.

Character Design Reveal

Hello my lovely loves!

I've been doing a little character design for a friend's project. I can't tell you too much about it, but here are the character sheets I've done. Hopefully I'll have more for you in the future!

A Cat called Jesse Pinkman

Hello my lovely loves,

Just a little look into a recent commission I did for a fellow ME sufferer and cat slave.
Obviously I have nothing but the greatest respect of anyone that names their pet after their favourite TV character.

Shine bright like a... Unicorn?

Hello my lovely loves!

Here's a piece I did recently for a friend of a friend. He'd been having a rough time of it recently so my friend asked me to create something unicorn related to remind him how FABULOUS he is.

I'm so pleased with this one I've just got to turn it into cards.

I give you Sparkle Unicorn...

Detective Portraits: Sherlock and John

Hello my lovely loves!

I've wanted to do a series of detective themed portraits for a while, especially since my Mum's been gathering autographs of all my favourites for me for a "Wall of Crime", so I thought I'd kick off with Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.

There's so many iterations of these characters, and eventually I'd like to do a few different ones (particularly the Elementary depictions, because those are great) but it seemed right to start of with BBC's Sherlock's versions, as I did a series of So Shit Sherlock images, illustrating why I'd make a rubbish Consulting Detective.

So here are Sherlock and John as portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

Enjoy.

My Funny Valentine

Hello my lovely loves!

Here's a little Valentine inspired by HOMwork - an online collective that sets a new brief every week.
It's actually primarily for lettering, but this week's was around the idea of an unusual Valentine - something that started in a predictable place, and ended up in an unpredictable one.

So here's a little card design with a little surprise on the inside...
