Phantom Barber

A test piece for the lovely people at the Fortean Times, about a phantom barber that crept into people's room at night to cut (and steal) people's hair in the Deep South. It got blamed on a fat 57-year-old chemist. Obviously a very stealthy one.

Anyway hopefully they'll like it. And you do too!

Greetings all,

Another piece for you all, which actually took a fairly pivotal place in my degree show. I didn't realise, until an Art Director at a magazine pointed it out, that it wasn't actually on my site.

Here's Peter and the Wolf - a poster for a showing of the amazing animation by Sergei Prokofiev.

Plans

Just a quick update on happenings...

My meeting with the publishers went well - so watch this space for developments, and its looking like I'll have an agent pretty soon as well, so more updates on that when the process is a bit further along.

Also, my website is having a few changes in the gallery areas. Instead of scrolling through images, it will be based on thumbnails to make everything a bit easier for the viewer and so new work is easy to find. 

Obviously until that's finished, no new work will be going up in that section, so I'll be putting some on the blog just so you know what I'm up to!

Found a quick sketch of her in my portfolio so I finished her off. She's a pilot, so she's called Amelia. Ink and digital textures.

Work in Progress

Greetings all!

Just thought I'd give you a bit of an insight into how I work, using a piece of character design I've been working on.

Particularly as I've been atrociously bad at posting so I thought I better do something a bit more in-depth. I do have a fairly good excuse, because I've just moved to the other side of London, and moving makes everything take twice as long as normal.

Anyway, the original pencil sketch, the line work, and the colour and shadow layers as they built up. I haven't got a proper name for her yet, but I've been going with 'Atti', just coz she's got a bit of a 'tude.

In other news, I'm going to see a publisher's tomorrow for a portfolio viewing) and I've been discussing the possibility of doing a children's book with a published writer. I did some audition pieces for a graphic novelisation he wanted to put together (which I'll put up soon), and while he and his publisher's decided to go for a more photorealist look for that project, he has some ideas he wants to go over.

So an all-over hoorah.

Shows Up!

Greetings all!

My final show is up at Kingston University now, and the private view is on Saturday so it's all very exciting!

If anyone wishes to check out either the show at Kingston Unversity or the London show in Shoreditch Town Hall basement, the details are as follows:

Kingston Unversity, Knights Park Campus - 7th June til 12th June - 1pm til 7pm

Shoreditch Town Hall basement - 18th June till 21st June - 18th and 19th 10am till 6pm, 20th and 21st, 12pm till 6pm.

Website Finished!

The website is all finished, with some updates as promised, in narrative and main gallery sections of the portfolio.

At the moment I'm just getting my portfolio and my final show mapped out, so its all go here.
