Sweeties and Wrappers

Hello my lovely loves!

I've got another piece I did for a friend to show you today. This is one I've had in the back of my mind for a long. long time now, but it's only been recently that I've been well enough (finally!) to complete it.
This is for one of my Trans friends, as a kind of half Birthday, half Congratulations-on-getting-your-hormones-and-officially-starting-your-transition present.

When I talk to people about the Trans community for the first time, especially with those who aren't familiar with it, I always use the analogy of sweets in the wrong wrappers. Obviously, it's a little more complex than that, but, it works if you're trying to keep it simple and lighthearted, or trying to explain the concept to children.

This piece is an extension of that analogy, because I've always felt that it doesn't matter what your wrapper is (or what you decide to change or alter about it), it is most definitely the inside that counts, and that's what I wanted to reiterate to my friend, as they start the next leg of their journey.

I also made sure that this was the first piece that came out of my new printer... and just check out how crisp it is!!! Worth every penny.
(I may do prints of this, or cards, but it's something I'd want to okay with my friend first. It's my piece, but I made it for them, so we'll see.)

Enough mushy stuff from me, I'll try and post again soon.

A very Star Wars birthday

Hello my lovely loves!

Here's a couple of pieces I did for my friend's 30th birthday!
His girlfriend has whisked him away to Prague, but he's given me permission to show these on the interwebs.

The Jedi one is my favourite, but I had to give a Chewbacca one a try, because Chewie is his nickname. Turns out it's pretty hard to make a portrait look like someone, but also like a Wookie.
Ah well.

Enjoy!
